The message of Stefan continues :
I am shocked, because you say that we will need at least two days to get fro the border of the Romania to Murighiol. The plan was to start on Friday after work in Germany, maybe 6:00 PM, as far as we can get. Let’s say till the middle of Hungary, then we would sleep a few hours just o get a little break, bu only if it’s absolutely needed, and start very early in the morning for the final part.
However, I trust you and your experience about the traffic in Romania, so I think we have to plan a bit more time fore the road trip.
The possibility to buy all the permits at a machine is pretty nice, so we don’t have to be there at a special time.
Is there a way to order the permits from Germany via Internet or something like this ??? So we can save time and drive straight to Murighiol, without having a stop in Tulcea.
One of the three ways you had showed us to get to the Lakes is the one we thought to take from the beginning of our plannings. It is way no. 3. I think this way is a bit longer but pretty safe because we don’t have to cross any lakes. The boat will be full with heavy equipment so we should take no risk.
What do you think how long it takes to go by boat (5 HP) to the lakes near the Gorgova Lake ?
Do you know something about the fishing conditions in the Potcoava and Gorgova Lakes ??? Something about the depth and if it is possible to camp on the small islands or if they are full of reeds so camping is no possible.
Al I know is what I can see on Google Earth.
But how this waters look’s like ??? Do you think fishing is easy there, or it is, for example, very shallow waters, with many weed in it ???
Our plan is to have our camp on one of the small islands and to fish in different directions to find some natural feeding places.
Maybe fishing is not possible in there because is to much weed, to shallow waters or whatever …
In case of that, we have to change the plan and find an other place to fish.
One more question :
You said that it is possible to park our car at the harbor in Murighiol. Is there a safe place where we can park the car for the whole week ??? Our plan was to bring the car at one of the camping areas in Murighiol and pay there for parking.
We are a bit afraid of parking our car for a longer time somewhere in an open area. What do you think about it ???
One last question :
Do you think it is possible to meet you in the Delta when you are there for fishing ??? For all your help, I think it should be an honor for us to invite you for some barbecue or what else we have to eat with us. 🙂
Thank you,
Stefan

About the Romanian roads …
Don’t be shocked. Even Romania is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, the roads are bad. We don’t have highways, so you have to drive very carefully.
Planning two days for crossing Romania, from west to east, is much safer. As I think I had already told you, between Nadlac (one of the main Romanian border crossing points with Hungary) and Bucharest you have around 640 km. If you are lucky (that means good weather, small traffic, no accidents on the road, etc.), it will take more than 8h to arrive in Bucharest. But this distance you can pass in 12h also, with very serious driving !!!
It is better to sleep near or into Bucharest an then take the last 300 km to Tulcea. It is much better then going by “one shot”.

Theoretically the answer is YES, but I wouldn’t bet on it. In the worse case scenario, I can arrange this permits to be bought for you before coming effectively in Romania, but in this case it will cost you a bit more.
This is not because of me. The “normal” period for this kind of permits is one week and you cannot buy this week in advance (similar with your tickets for parking, you can buy one for an hour from NOW, after an hour you come back and buy another one …). In this case (buying in advance), you will have to pay for the hole year. That means you will pay not only around 10 E for one permit but 30 E approximately. On the other hand, everybody does this … is like vignette in Hungary : it is for one week … but you have to stay more in Osterreich !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Ok, let’s get started. First of all, I am not fisherman, so my knowledge in this domain are close to zero.
On the other hand, be careful with Google Earth : it is very tricky !!!
